i'm reviving this post and featuring it for a bit to make sure new readers hear about this crazy-fabulous opportunity.
you may remember us posting back over the summer about a little trip to san miguel de allende. well, we had to postpone our trip, but we have rescheduled for july 9-20, 2009. so, i'll throw out my adventure wedding idea again- if anyone is up for getting married south of the border in SMA during that 11 day window, we'll waive our travel fees.
san miguel de allende is a lovely colonial, artsy town about 4 hours from mexico city in the mountains. adam and i often fantasize about moving down there, having already fallen in love with the idea of it even though we have not yet visited.
for starters, you could rent a house through vacation rentals by owner. or you could stay at portal ocho, casa de los olivos, casa quetzal, hotel casa linda, casa schuck, casa rosada, casa misha, oasis, hacienda san nicolas, casa de aves or la morada. and thanks to donna at experience san miguel de allende for bringing some others to my attention- casa de liza, doña urraca, dos casas, la puertecita, antigua villa santa monica and villa rivera.
you can contact celebrations san miguel, san miguel weddings, momento eventos, los secretos or weddings san miguel for assistance with planning.
check out the gorgeous casa de sierra nevada.
hacienda las trancas is a 450 year-old property outside of SMA.
yogafy at sagrada wellness. and here's a link to yummy eats in SMA.
are you game? see you there.

You are going to love your time in San Miguel de Allende. I do hope you get one or more takers for your wedding idea. San Miguel is a dream of a wedding destination. But they should be warned. They might just fall in love all over again--with a place. San Miguel does that to people. It's hold on the heart is infectious and unyielding.
The internetsanmiguel site you link to is seriously out of date. If your readers would like lots of very current, up-to-date information about San Miguel, along with lots of photos, they can visit www.experience-san-miguel-de-allende.com . There's a very complete hotels directory, lists of events throughout the year, descriptions of places like Atotonilco and the Jardin that really evoke the spirit of place, even a "36 hours in San Miguel" page that will give them great ideas on how to experience the best of San Miguel in a short time.
Enjoy your time in our magical town.
